The URL/API Test

BlazeMeter provides an automatic scripting option. You simply enter a list of URLs (Under 'Create Test', select URL/API Test), select the geo-location, desired max concurrent users for the test, Delay between Requests and Duration of the test – that’s all.

The reports will provide you with all the KPIs you need. You can easily share all the results with your team.

The automatic scripting feature generates a JMeter script, each virtual user will hit each URL sequentially. Each virtual user has their own browser session, cache, and cookies.

Alternatively, you can use the Chrome Extension to record complex scripts directly from your Google Chrome browser.

How to create a URL/API test

To create a test, you simply need to follow these steps

  • Sign up to BlazeMeter. It's free and no credit card is required.
  • Click on the 'Create Test' link (on the upper navigation bar) and select the 'URL Test' option.

  • Provide the required details like Test name, Load Origin Location, URL to test and load test details.
  • Save your test, then start it by pressing the Start link.

Sample GET Request

Here is a sample test for better understanding of BlazeMeter automatic scripting option.

To test a get request simple enter the full url and select the get radio button next to it.


Sample POST Request

The body of well-formatted post request is as follows:

param1=value1&param2=value2&param3=value3

For example, if you want to make a POST request to log into Wordpress, you can add the following into your set of BlazeMeter requests:

style="border-color: #e6e6e6;border-width: 1px;border-style: solid;"

If you are not sure what the parameters and values you need are, you can open your Developer Tools in Google Chrome, click Network, make your request manually, then find your post request.

Click on the request, and then find the section that says form data to find the request's parameters and values.
